Berkeley Hostel at Piedmont House has mostly private rooms...no particular planned group activities...and is only a youth hostel due to its shared facilities, such as "bathroom down the hall", and a community kitchen so our guests can survive affordably in Berkeley.
We are three blocks from The Boalt Hall corner of campus and from International House and a short walk to bookstores, cafes and famous purveyors of international cuisine (three blocks to the famous Telegraph Avenue). Close by, there is great hiking, museums, enterainmtent, a well-regarded botanical garden--and all the offerings of a major world-class University.
